Wandering Whiskers Cat Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of stray and abandoned cats in Thamesville and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for cats in need, offering them shelter, medical care, and love until they find their forever homes. We are committed to educating the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering.

For as long as I can remember, I have always found myself wanting to be a caretaker for animals. Whether they were abandoned, stray, or mistreated, I always wanted to help them.  One of our family’s most favorite pastimes, was to go to the animal shelter, and play with the animals, in hopes of brightening their day.

Combining both of these treasured pastimes, is what has lead our family to opening a rescue. Being able to brighten the days of our in-care felines, as well as, caretaking, and rescuing ones in need, is why Wandering Whiskers Cat Rescue has come to be.

We began this rescue with the main focus of helping to reduce the over population of stray felines through a trap-neuter-return program, as well as a trap-rehome program, through adoption. There is a need for a program like the one we offer in the area in which we live. Approaching the municipality for stronger by-law enforcement, as well as education for the community on the well-being of felines, and the importance of spay, and neuter is also one of our main focuses.

For anyone who knows our family, or has met us, knows that we have a passion for animals, and that passion can be seen in our actions towards them. Giving animals the respect, love, and secure homes they deserve, is what we strive to emit, every day, in hopes that we can influence people to honor the commitment that comes with welcoming an animal, and family member into their home.
